This year I gave many of my clients a gift certificate of $25 to Kiva.org - an online company which gives microloans to small business owners - usually individuals - in third world countries. I didn't know that there were organizations here in the States that were following the same business model. I think it's a great idea and I'm glad to see it emerging as a viable funding option for small business owners.
